With the temps being in the 60’s here in Seattle, the daffodils and trees are blooming, it has felt like Spring arrived a few weeks ago. We are not much for holiday themed decorating, but we do love to decorate our spaces for each season. Now is a great time to give your home a “refresh” by introducing accents throughout the home to welcome the Spring season. Much like swapping out your wardrobe seasonly, packing away the Fall/Winter clothes and bringing out your Spring/Summer wardrobe, introducing some non-investment type accents throughout your home is a great way to freshen things up and it also brightens your mood! Here are some of our suggestions to welcome Spring into your home:
LIVING ROOM:
One of the easiest ways to add a nice pop of color is changing up the throw pillows on sofas and chairs.
Refreshing your coffee table scape is really easy and fun to do by swapping out the tray with a vibrant colored one, adding a yummy scented candle and finishing it off with a bouquet of fresh flowers. Picking up a couple inexpensive accent ottomans with a fun color and/or pattern adds interest and more seating. This is something we love to include in our furniture design packages!
BEDROOM:
Again, swapping out accent the pillows, throw blankets or coverlets is a very easy way to mix it up for spring! OR something that I love to do is to have a whole different bedding set for the spring/summer season – duvet, shams, sheets, throw pillows and blankets.
THROUGHOUT THE HOME:
Changing out artwork from picture frames in gallerie walls such a this one or putting up new pieces of art all together is a fun change and a great way rotate your favorite photos and pieces of art.
Last but not least, infusing greenery throughout your home – adding fresh flowers of the season or planting an indoor herb garden – is the best way to bring the outdoors in and welcome the spring season into your home.
