One.  Week.  Left.  I can’t believe what a wild ride these past five weeks has been.  I can’t believe I’ve made it?!  I can’t believe that next week, it’ll all be over and the space will be complete?!  Of all of the weeks, I can say without hesitation that this past week has been the most demanding.  Painting, drilling, coordinating, and making last minute judgement calls has been what this week has been made of.  But, as this challenge is coming to it’s close, I feel the sense of relief starting to seep in that makes every, single design project worth it.

Along with getting everything in place for this awesome One Room Challenge, this mama is busy getting everything ready in our home to welcome this new babe!

No lies, I’m completely and totally exhausted!!  I have had multiple nights this past week wondering, “What the hell where you thinking?!  I mean, you’re 80 thousand months pregnant for God’s sake and your toddler has never been busier!”  However, I just took the time to check some items off of last weeks list and that at least makes me feel a bit better.  If you’re just checking in for the first time this week, you can view the previous post in relation to the One Room Challenge below:

Whitestone Design Group | Pacific Northwest Nursery | One Room Challenge - WK 5 Checklist

Receiving the custom designed fabric was one of the biggest highlights of my week!  Having a fabric line for Whitestone Design Group has been a DREAM of mine for years…  Seeing it come to fruition has been beyond rewarding and the excitement of seeing the soft goods in place is keeping me motivated.

The sad news…  I had to cancel the daybed.  After weeks of delay, I finally called and cancelled.  As Designers, we always have to have backup plans.  I really loved the Lubi Daybed by CB2 because of it’s size and color, but a six week timeline is no joke and as Tim Gunn of Project Runway says, I had to “make it work!”  So, “bye bye” beautiful grey daybed and “Hello” natural linen!

WHAT’S NEXT

So, as you can see on the list above, there are some big items left to complete.  We were able to put the new trim and baseboards in, but I fear that there just won’t be enough time to wallpaper the closet.  None-the-less, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and I am excited to share how this gender neutral nursery comes together next week with you all!

This week, I’ll be finishing up all the soft goods for the space, pillows, draperies, etc.  I’ll be finishing up my little crafting projects which you can see more of on my Instagram Stories ORC Highlights.  I’ll be patiently waiting for the remaining furniture pieces to arrive as well as the commissioned art (eeeeek! I can’t wait).  And last, but not least, I’ll be starting to fill the room with all the tiny, little things it takes to take care of the new babe!

Here are a few teaser images to get you through to next week.  As always, thank you SO much for following my journey.  Having babies is such a special time in life and getting to be involved with this One Room Challenge in the midst of it all has been more fun than it has been stressful for sure. What a ride!!!  Make sure to check in to see what the others are doing here.  I’m in AWE of some of the rooms that these talented Designers are pulling off in just 6 week!

– Happy Designing –
